Donkey's milk - a prized heritage
Cleopatra, the beautiful Queen of Egypt, used to bathe in donkey’s milk to preserve her beauty, as did the Roman empress Poppea who travelled everywhere with her herd of 300 donkeys so that she would never be short of their milk ! The famous Greek physician, Hippocrates, recommended it for all sorts of pains and illnesses (to heal wounds, relieve joint pains etc…). Today, donkey's milk is once again back in thelimelight !
Donkey milk production
The production of donkey's milk requires patience and meticulous expertise. A donkey is milked by hand 4 to 6 times a day and she will only give her milk if her foal is with her. Regular milking will produce a modest 1.5 to 2 litres per daycompared to 30 litres from a cow. However, all these efforts are greatly rewarded by the exceptional virtues of donkey's milk.

The merits of donkey's milk
The composition of donkey's milk is very similar to human breast milk. Thanks to its exceptional combination of fatty acids and vitamins A, E and Omega 3 & 6, it effectively regenerates the skin and prevents skin ageing.
This creamy-fragranced nourishing and softening hypoallergenic balm is perfectly suited to delicate and fragile skin. It is also recommended for skin disorders such as eczema, acne and psoriasis. The synergy of donkey's milk with shea butter provides this balm with exceptional repairing properties.
"Plus" points
For optimum use, warm a small amount of the balm in the palm of your hand and knead into a creamy texture. The warmth from your body will make it soft and smooth so that it will glide over your skin and be easily absorbed.
After an exfoliating scrub, massage the face with the balm. Relax in a warm bath or have a hot shower ; the warm atmosphere will help the skin to absorb the balm more effectively. Rinse off the remaining emulsion with water and pat dry. Your complexion is revitalised and luminous.
